As a result of the Coronavirus the Chinese Central Government has extended the Lunar New Year Holiday to Monday February 3rd and there are indications some regions within China will be extended to Monday February 10th. Our China partners will be working online during this period and making every possible effort to minimise further impacts on your business.
As a result of the changes we are expecting an increase in blank sailings and also for freight rates to remain higher post Chinese New Year, traditionally rates remain high only for a short period post CNY but this will likely be extended due to increased backlogs.
