DP World Protected Industrial Action Update
4th December, 2023
We have been advised that the protected industrial action has been extended to 12th December. The on-going actions taken by the CFMMEU-MUA has caused significant operational delays at all DP World terminals in Australia. Many sailings schedules are impacted and will continue to be affected whilst this dispute remains unresolved. We are also aware that vessels are returning late back to respective origins as a result of delays in Australia. This is already having an impact on current schedules of departure.
We have been made aware that discussions are scheduled this week between DP World Management and the CFMMEU-MUA. Like all, we are hopeful that the parties can reach an agreement so that all in the supply chain can get on with normal business. We will update further as these discussions progress.
We thank you for your patience during this period and send a huge thanks to the SCC team that are managing these delays and communicating them with our customers. As with all businesses in International freight, we are well prepared to manage increased volume during this traditional peak season, dealing with extended industrial action at the same time whilst far from ideal is being very well managed by the SCC team. Here’s hoping to a resolution very soon.
